ONLINE FIRE SAFETY PERMIT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. FIRE SAFETY PERMITS

A. PRE-ENGINEERED EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL

The Beverly Hills Permit Center processes permit requests for pre-engineered extinguishing systems (e.g., kitchen hood wet-chemical, clean agent).

A permit is required before any installation, modification, repair, or removal of these systems in new or existing facilities. Work without a permit is prohibited and may result in violations or penalties.

B. DAS (DISTRIBUTED ANTENNA SYSTEM) PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL

The Beverly Hills Permit Center processes permit requests for public safety radio enhancement systems (DAS/BDA).

A permit is required prior to installation, modification, or testing of a DAS to ensure reliable in-building emergency responder radio coverage.

C. TWO-WAY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL

The Beverly Hills Permit Center processes permit requests for two-way emergency communication systems (e.g., areas of refuge, stairwells).

A permit is required before installation or alteration to ensure code-compliant emergency communication for occupants and responders.

D. CO2 MONITORING SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL

The Beverly Hills Permit Center processes permit requests for carbon dioxide (CO2) monitoring systems associated with beverage dispensing, cultivation, labs, or storage/use areas.

A permit is required prior to installation or modification to ensure occupant safety, alarm setpoints, ventilation interlocks, and notification functions are compliant.

The Beverly Hills Permit Center reviews submittals for evacuation maps to verify accuracy, readability, and posting locations for occupant safety.

A permit/approval is required for new or revised maps to ensure conformance with applicable code requirements and building features.

Final Inspection & Compliance

All permitted work must pass required inspections. Approval is granted after verification that installations, testing, and documentation comply with the Beverly Hills Municipal Code, California Building Standards Code, and applicable NFPA standards.

 

Step 2. Staff Review

City Staff will review your application, and will be in touch with you if additional information is required. Please allow at least two (2) -three (3) business days for staff to review your application. After finalizing and submitting your request, you will be assigned a reference number. A notification email will also be sent to you with instructions. Please include the reference number if you need to ask questions or provide clarification regarding your application. Step 3. Payment

You will receive a CitySmart notification email after staff processes your application. The email will provide information, a breakdown of plan review and/or permit fees, and a link to the online payment portal.
